1. ABC Waterbed Outlet does not
sell frames, risers, decking or other wood furniture parts.
This is because they are not manufactured and packaged for
easy shipping. They are also oversize and overweight by
shipping standards and expensive to ship. We recommend you
look in your local newspaper, trading post newsletter or free
newspapers for used frames which should be inexpensive. 2. It depends on the product since we are extending the manufacturers warranty. Heaters and mattresses generally are 5 years, most linens are 1 month to 3 months. Please see warranty information on individual web pages and your warranty when you get it. See our Return Page for more in-depth answers. If you have a warranty issue you can email us or call call us at 1-877-420-2337 between 12:00 noon. and 4:00 P.M. Monday through Friday EST if you just have a question. Be sure to include the Order Number, your name and your email address, without this information we cannot locate your order and therefore cannot process a return for you. 3. We welcome orders to Alaska, Hawaii too, but extra shipping costs do not allow us to ship to these areas for free. We no longer ship to international or APO/FPO addresses. The weight of mattresses varies between 25 and 45 pounds depending on size. We include a liner, conditioner and fill/drain kit. A typical heater weighs around 8 pounds. A linen set around 12 pounds. Both shipping methods are pretty quick. Because of lost or delayed shipments we do no not use Global Economy Parcel Post. We do not use other International shippers like UPS, FedEx or DHL because they are higher. If interested, place your order online so we have a firm idea what you want and where it is going. We will get back to you with the shipping costs prior to filling the order. 4. You will not fall between the two mattresses on a dual waterbed mattress. Water seeks it's own level keeping the mattresses together, you also have a mattress pad and fitted sheet over the transition area which prevents you from sliding down between the bladders. 5. Thermal dividers are made of the same material as the mattress with some soft foam added for insulation purposes so they are soft and pliable. You can barely tell where the two mattresses transition on a dual waterbed mattress with your hand, and even less so with your body. 6. Do-it-Yourself bed. For legal reasons we do not supply measured plans for building a bed. We do know that many experienced woodworkers have made their own waterbed frames. Here is some helpful information: The inside diameters of a queen frame is about 60" X 84" X 9" which fits the outside of a queen mattress, the King is 72" X 84" X 9". Frame pieces are usually made of 2" X 10" dimensional lumber or two pieces of 3/4" hardwood plywood that is sandwiched/glued together ( 1 1/2" thick ). Use large corner brackets or long carriage screws to attach the 4 frame pieces together. The head and footboard frame pieces have a dado about 1/2" square that fits over he decking boards when installed. The decking boards float between the two saides at this point. A second headboard piece (without dado) can be attached above the frame headboard to be a headboard for the sleepers. We call this a 5 board frame. Make your decking to fit inside the finished inside dimensions taking the dado into account.Decking is usually made of 1/2" wafer board that has been coated with varnish or clear laquer in case it gets wet. Use two or three L-brackets depending on their size, along each frame side to attach the frame to the decking. This whole assembly just sits on a pedestal riser or drawer riser. Weight holds it in place. Pedestal risers are often made of 5/8" fiberboard and painted black. Be sure you have cross-braces in the middle to support the weight. If not properly supported the bed may sag or slide off. Since you won't have the plastic corner brackets to attach the 4 sides of the riser, you will have to substitute by using blocks of wood at the corners and gluing and screwing them together or use another way of fastening that you chose. Fiberboard is weak in many respects. It's mainly used because it's easy to paint. Plywood or wafer board are better, but their outsides are rough so they take a lot of work to paint. The riser should be slightly smaller than the deck and everything must be centered for stability. Inside the riser, crossbraces are needed to prevent sag. Drawer risers are made of pine or hardwood plywood. Its basically two low dressers with connecting stringers. Good luck and have fun with your project. 7. We do not have a printed catalog. It would increase our prices and is not able to reflect our large stock of products accurately. The shopping cart is easily changed to reflect inventory. Linens for waterbeds are produced at the mills just a few times a year, so supply can choppy. We prefer to only sell items that are in stock. 8. Every crib waterbed mattress that existed years ago that we knew of has been removed from the market. We love waterbeds, but we consider waterbeds an unsafe place for little ones. They can get wedged between the mattress and frame and suffocate. This goes for large size waterbeds too. 9. Many manufacturers mark both King and California King as "King" or Queen and California Queen as "Queen." Please carefully open the package ( in case you have to return them ) and try them on your bed. If they don't fit, send us an email and we will make further arrangements then. 10. Sorry, no. We can't guarantee the sheets you order will match your drapes or floor. All manufacturers colors vary from run to run. Our pricing is very low considering that we warehouse these products so they are ready to be shipped at the first opportunity. We feel everyone wants lower pricing and linens that are ready to ship today, not high costs. Not all on-line stores maintain an inventory. |
